I admire a lot of beauty artists and Lisa Eldridge is one of them. She has been doing great work on her channel and also joined Lancome. Lancome is a company that is known for its great foundations. Lisa worked in a team with Lancome company as a Global Creative Director and launched LANCOME MIRACLE CUSHION FOUNDATION

I know this product launched in 2015 and I am a little too late to review this product. However, after using it for a while now, I think I am ready to review this miracle cushion foundation. Its bad news that Lancome foundation is not available in India but it was released with 6 different shades in the UK and 11 different shades in the USA.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: Lancome miracle cushion foundation is a color-true, liquid foundation that is designed like a cushion sponge and claims to deliver light to medium coverage along with providing hydration to your skin.

This cushion foundation is oil-free and provides you a dewy finish for a polished glow. This is an innovative cushion sponge that contains over 800,000 pores that help in the transfer of the ideal amount of product for an effortless application of makeup.

The formula of this miracle cushion foundation is such that it is infused with skincare actives that make sure to give your skin a boost of hydration and a cooling sensation along with brightening the appearance of your skin. This miracle cushion foundation claims to provide the benefits of a CC/BB cream while offering light to medium coverage just like a liquid foundation.

All you have to do is to tap easily in the compact for light coverage and then heavily if you need more coverage. If you are a person who likes heavy coverage, then you can always add concealer on the top of this foundation. The concealer will blend really well with this miracle cushion foundation.

The main ingredients of this foundation are- Dimethicone, Aqua, Methyl Trimethicone, Lauryl PEG-9 Polydimethylsiloxyethyl Dimethicone, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate,  Butylene Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate,  Ethylhexyl Salicylate, PEG-10 Dimethicone, Diphenylsiloxy Phenyl Trimethicone, Pentylene Glycol, Butylene Glycol, Acrylates/Stearyl Acrylate/Dimethicone Methacrylate Copolymer,  Magnesium sulfate, Trisiloxane, Glycerine, etc.

COST: This product is expensive in comparison to the amount of product it provides. It retails for about 46 USD for only 15ml of the product.

PACKAGING OF THE MIRACLE CUSHION FOUNDATION: Talking about the packaging of this product, it comes in a regular silver-colored box. All the details about the product are printed on this box. Inside the box, there is a small tub that contains the foundation. The top of the tub is silver-colored and upon opening it, you will find a sponge for the application of your foundation. Underneath the sponge, there is another plastic cover that holds the foundation and gets open and shut with a click only. This also helps in preventing the foundation from drying out.  The cushion of this foundation is just like a sponge- bouncy and can be filled with a liquid foundation.

By pressing the cushion lightly over the foundation, you will get light coverage. To test if the product leaks or not, I inverted the tub and not even a single drop of the product spilled at all. This small tub is very travel-friendly, so you can carry this in your bag for whenever you require the touch-ups.

SHADE OF MY LANCOME CUSHION FOUNDATION: This cushion foundation is available in 6 different shades in the UK and I got myself the shade no. 03. This is a warm-toned beige shade and it will suit you well if you are MAC NC30/35, shade Barcelona in the NARS foundations and shade 03 in the Lancome foundations.

The shade looks a bit darker when it is in the pot and on swatch too but it will perfectly match your skin tone when blended properly. The good part is that the shade did not oxidize on my skin at all. So, you don’t have to worry about the shade getting darker with time on your skin tone.

SPONGE: I would also like to talk about the sponge that you get inside this product. The sponge is made up of polyurethane and is really soft and smooth. The sponge is definitely washable but sometimes stains are harder to remove.

However, if you don’t like the sponge provided with it, you can use any other makeup brand sponge to get the same results. I have used my beauty blender and foundation brush to apply this, and they did a pretty good job.

CONSISTENCY OF THE PRODUCT: Let me tell you frankly, that I have never used any cushion foundation before. I have used liquid foundations, stick foundations, and powder foundations from various brands. The consistency of this foundation is wetter and watery than the other sheer foundations I have used.  It provides a dewy finish on your skin.

This foundation is so lightweight that you won’t feel that you are wearing makeup at all. It allows your skin to breathe freely. It provides hydration and cooling sensation to your skin, which is one of the best parts of it, while you have to apply makeup in the super hot summer weather.

Lancome cushion foundation using instructions: What you have to do is to gently push the sponge into the foundation. The product will then get soaked in the sponge. To get a sheer effect on your face, you have to apply the foundation in swiping motions all over your face.

In case you require more coverage, then you can dab the sponge on those areas again. However, this foundation can only provide you light to medium coverage, which is a little drawback for people who like heavy coverage to hide their acne or dark spots. So, in case you have pigmentation and still want to use this foundation, I would recommend using concealer over this foundation for better coverage.

On what skin type does Lancome miracle cushion foundation work the best?

Lancome miracle cushion foundation is best for normal to dry skin type people. Like other runny and sheer foundations, this also suits the dry skin type people the best. If you have oily skin and still using it, then you will have to use some powder over it to set it.

This foundation does not cling to your pores and gives you a very smooth and dewy finish. The best part of this foundation is that it comes with refill cases that are available at a lesser price. So once you have finished using your first cushion, you can refill the tub with another refill cushion in a very convenient manner.

Staying power of the foundation: The foundation has got a good staying power, as it lasts on me for the entire day (7-8 hours) without the use or any primer and touch-ups. But if you want to make it stay longer, you will definitely need touch-ups. I do touch-ups sometimes around the oily areas of my face. This foundation can last longer than this in cold weather conditions.

  • It does not spill or gets leaked like other liquid foundations.
  • The foundation gets easily dispensed on pressing the cushion.

  • The size of the compact makes it very travel-friendly.
  • It is available in 6 different shades in Uk and in 11 different shades in the USA.

  • The product is expensive.
  • This product is not available in India.
  • The sponge and the container can get messy when used repeatedly.
  • Other inexpensive cushion foundations are already available in the market.
  • It is not the best foundation for people with oily skin.
  • The amount of product you get for 46 USD is only 15ml.

My final thoughts: Is the Lancome miracle cushion foundation worth it?

Although the product is a bit expensive, I really enjoy the dewy finish that it provides to my skin. I am a person who does not like heavy coverage on my face, so this works really great for me. I would definitely recommend this foundation to people who have normal to dry skin types. Let us know in the comments below how this foundation worked for you guys.
